Delivers interpretive presentations, programs and activities to visitors of these Parks Canada places, supports the maintenance of large heritage grounds and frontline support at the parks/sites. The Heritage Presenter will join a motivated Visitor Experience team within a Parks Canada National Park or Historic Site listed above. We are looking to hire an individual with a passion for the natural world and/or history who wants to help build meaningful connections to these heritage places. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal abilities to engage inquiries from multiple visitors and to work cooperatively with colleagues, enjoy working outdoors, and for Bellevue House have basic gardening skills to present and support the maintenance of large heritage grounds and gardens. The Interpretation team requires an empathetic, tactful and engaged team member with leadership skills and a strong orientation toward client service and education. The role is to inform, educate, and inspire visitors to share in conversations about Canada’s natural and cultural heritage and help visitors to learn about the place, and past while being exposed to inclusive perspectives on the park’s and/or site’s history.
In these positions, staff are exposed to various weather conditions when delivering programs and presentations, moving between facilities, and working outdoors, and the role involves periods of lifting, carrying, and transporting materials and objects of up to 30 lbs. There is exposure to dirt, dust and odours when working in the gardens, grounds and outdoor settings, while giving demonstrations, and potential exposure to noxious vegetation, and stinging/biting insects.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or PSC approved alternatives or acceptable combination of education, training, experience and/or Traditional Knowledge relevant to position.
Note: Acceptable combination of education, training, and experience:
Two years of secondary school or PSC approved alternatives; AND
• Successful completion of a minimum of one (1) course relevant to the duties of the position (e.g., courses taken through continuing education facilities, colleges, universities, professional or governmental organizations or employers including training provided by Indigenous Elders or group that may include but are not limited to courses in heritage interpretation, history, horticulture, education, communications, public speaking, performing arts); AND
• A minimum of three (3) months experience working in the fields of education, interpretation, horticulture, recreation, tourism and/or outreach-communications.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience delivering programs and activities to a wide range of audiences using a variety of interpretation and presentation techniques.
• Experience in providing service that entailed direct contact and communication with the public.
EXPERIENCE:
