HOW TO APPLY:

Duties

Role:
The IT Analyst is responsible to provide technical support services and advice in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of a departmental IT infrastructure to employees and police officers.

Key duties include:
• Setting up new hardware and software, ensuring they meet organization’s requirements
• Troubleshooting issues with hardware, software and TCP/IP networks
• Performing regular maintenance and updates
• Assisting employees and police officers with technical problems
• Maintain an inventory of IT equipment
• Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation of new and existing systems
• Continuously enhances their skills through ongoing training and professional development

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/or permanent positions.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

• Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

Experience in diagnosing and resolving Windows 10 / Windows 11 issues.
Experience managing an Active Directory environment (Group Policies, AD users and Groups, etc)
Experience supporting Windows Servers in an IT environment
Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP Networks, VLANS, LANs)

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
If no candidate meets this requirement, the position may be staffed on a non-imperative basis. Non-bilingual candidates are therefore encouraged to submit their applications.

This position requires proficiency in both official languages, English and French, at the above-noted level. If you do not meet the language requirements of this position and the appointment is being made on a non-imperative basis, you will be exempted by the Public Service Official Languages Exclusion Approval Order from meeting the official language proficiency requirements at the time of an appointment. By accepting an offer, you agree to undertake to attain the level of official language proficiency required for the position, through language training at public expense, within a period of two years. Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - of the RCMP.
