Our organization support hybrid work, with a designated work location at 1081 Main Street, Moncton, New Brunswick. Duties

- Verify, reconcile, analyze, and resolve errors/variances and process the appropriate financial transaction
- Ensure financial transactions are in compliance with governmental and departmental financial policies and directives
- Provide information and clarification to clients on departmental financial policies/directives relating to receivables
- Follow-up on outstanding financial transactions such as suspense accounts and accounts receivable
- Receive, control, safeguard and reconcile cash and cheques and prepare for deposit at the bank

Intent of the process

This is a continuous intake of applications, to create and maintain an inventory of candidates for employment opportunities at Employment and Social Development Canada in the Moncton, NB region, on an indeterminate ,specified period, assignment, deployment, secondment

Candidates will be assessed through a continuous intake model. Pools will be adjusted regularly to reflect the addition of fully assessed candidates.

EDUCATION :

OPTION 1:
-A secondary school diploma and *significant work experience in processing financial transactions using a computerized financial, accounting or banking system;

* Significant experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated.

OR

OPTION 2:
***A successful completion of two years of a postsecondary program, from a recognized postsecondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics

***The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and taken in a recognized post-secondary institution but not necessarily within a post-secondary program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

-A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management subgroup.

OR

-Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:

-Experience in accounting operations / financial services in a federal government department;
-Experience in accounts receivables;
-Experience in accounts payables;
-Experience working in a financial institution;
-Experience in processing financial transactions using a financial system such as SAP.
