NW Procurement and Contracting is a fast-paced environment that has a broad portfolio of procuring goods and services in support of RCMP Public Safety. There are many developmental opportunities including training, participating in working groups and mentoring.

The RCMP is currently working within a hybrid work model. The selected candidate will be required to report to the work place 3 days per week. A hybrid workforce is one in which, on any given day, there will be a mixture of employees teleworking and working on-site at their designated worksite.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff an indeterminate full time position in Regina, Saskatchewan.

A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process may be established to staff full-time indeterminate and term positions in Regina, Saskatchewan, Edmonton, Alberta and/or Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Notes:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
c. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
d. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the PG classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.
Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the PG classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.
2. Acceptable experience and/or training in a field relevant to positions in the PG classification is required when the education qualification specified for the position being staffed is a secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume or multi-tasking environment with a focus on customer service.

Experience planning and organizing workload and effectively addressing priorities

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Graduation with a degree, applied degree, certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience using a computerized finance, supply or inventory system, such as System Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) or equivalent, procure to pay system, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), etcetera).

Experience interpreting and providing guidance on procedures or policies or legislation.

*Recent and **significant experience in providing support to those procuring goods and services. This could include supporting any activities related to purchasing goods or services for an organization. An example must be provided to demonstrate experience in at least one (1) of the following:
- Providing advice and guidance to clients on initiating purchases for goods and services.
- Validating or proofing client documentation requiring in order to initiate a purchase
- Preparing tender documents
- Contract administration (i.e., Goods Receipt, Invoicing, Payments, Processing Amendments, etc.)
- Negotiation process with suppliers
- Obtaining quotes form suppliers

*Recent is defined as within the past three (3) years.
**Significant is defined as the primary responsibility for at least six (6) months of continuous experience

Willingness and ability to work occasional overtime.

Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).

The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan, or Edmonton*, Alberta or Winnipeg, Manitoba.
*Edmonton office location moving from Downtown to Sherwood Park within the next 1 - 2 years.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
