Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill two (2), English essential GLEIM10 position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Petawawa, Ontario.

A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC1. Possession of a valid Province of Ontario Electrical Trade Certificate (309A) or inter-provincial red seal equivalent.

EXPERIENCE
EX1. Experience working as an electrician in commercial/industrial building construction or maintenance.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
OR1. Must be able and willing to work overtime, even on weekends, if required by the employer.
OR2. Must be able and willing to travel, if required by the employer.

OR4. Willingness to be on a standby or a call-in list and asked to respond after hours within one hour of being called in.
OR5. Willingness to take additional courses as required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
COE1. Reliability security status
COE2. Must maintain a valid Province of Ontario Electrical Trade Certificate (309A) or inter-provincial red seal equivalent.
COE3. Must possess and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial or territorial equivalent.
COE4. An acceptable driver’s abstract provided within 30 days of request, dated no earlier than 30 days prior to the request.
COE5. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.
COE6. May include but not limited to wearing Personal Protective Equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
COE7. Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
