The Manager of Finance is responsible for overseeing assigned financial activities, including budget monitoring and forecasting, analysis and reconciliation; budget and forecast reporting; identifying and explaining budget variances; developing strategies to address shortfalls; lead in financial planning.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead FedNor’s budget and expenditure reporting cycle within the Government of Canada;
• Working with and advising various internal clients (managers and directors);
• Advising, training and supporting managers on the application of financial policies, procedures and tools related to planning, management, reporting, budgeting, accounting and financial data interpretation systems;
• Overseeing the implementation of financial reports for presentation to senior management;
• Provide training and presentations on financial results and the use of financial forecasting tools.

Education
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; OR eligibility for a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Experience
• Experience in providing strategic advice, analysis, briefings, presentation, reports and recommendations to management on financial management issues.
• Experience in analyzing, interpreting and applying policies, guidelines or procedures.
• Experience in extracting, compiling and analyzing financial information.
•Significant* experience in two (2) of the following functional areas:
• Financial planning;
• External reporting;
• Resource management;
• Financial advisory services;
• Accounting operations;
• Financial systems;
• Financial policy;
• Internal controls.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties on a full-time basis for a cumulative period of approximately two (2) years.
Asset Qualifications
• Knowledge of the government-wide budgetary cycle.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Possession of a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
