Who can apply: Residents within 60 km of Tobermory, ON, and registered members of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

Assessment accommodation

Duties

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks.
• Clean and maintain campsites, washrooms, and other facilities.
• Operate and maintain equipment like chainsaws, tractors, and ATVs.

Work environment

Join our team at Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park! We are looking for dedicated individuals to help maintain our beautiful parks. You'll be involved in general maintenance, repairs, and cleaning tasks to keep our facilities in top shape for over 500,000 annual visitors.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Building construction/maintenance
• General maintenance (trails, landscaping)
• Operating maintenance equipment

Additional Qualifications
• Experience with small engine repairs is a plus.

Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of building, landscaping, and maintenance.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Effective communication with team members and visitors.
• Physical ability to perform heavy labor tasks (e.g., carrying 50 pounds for up to 300 meters)

Personal Suitability
• Attention to detail.
• Dependability.
• Shows initiative.

Operational Requirements
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in various terrains and weather conditions.
• Commitment to safety and willingness to obtain first aid and MED A-3 certification.
• Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy.

Conditions of employment

• Must pass a security clearance.
• Valid class G driver’s license.
