Duties

Works in collaboration with interdisciplinary team to deliver occupational health nursing services relative to the periodic health assessment (PHA); assessment program for special placements/missions; disability case management; or immunization program in accordance with policy. As such provides advice/guidance/recommendations; collaborates with medical professionals, facilitates/coordinates referrals, reviews/maintains medical files and follows up on assessments, immunizations and examinations; facilitates or performs screening tests (such as audiograms, vision tests, pulmonary function and blood pressure readings); enters/updates medical profiles/information onto electronic file management systems.

Intent of the process

The process aims to create an inventory of qualified candidates to fill positions. The candidate
qualified pool resulting from this inventory may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate
(anticipatory), term, or casual basis.

Currently there is one term vacancy to be filled.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education, psychiatric nursing or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse in the Province of Manitoba

Considerable* Experience in Occupational Health Nursing and/or Disability Case/Medical Case Management

Experience dealing with internal/external clients.

*Considerable experience is defined as the depth, breadth and complexity of experience normally acquired through the performance of duties for a minimum period of three (3) years.

- Able to work irregular hours and overtime on occasion

- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Hold and maintain an active license to practice nursing from the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
