The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Design, develop, implement and maintain/administer SharePoint-based solutions, sites and tools. This may include workflows, lists, SP calendar, client-side JavaScript, HTML, CSS and may involve SharePoint online, SharePoint 2016, Add-ins, OneDrive for Business, MS Teams, MS Power platform.
• Provide support, guidance and recommendations to Technology and information Services and other sectors – this may include demonstrations, knowledge transfer, training and the creation of related materials.
• Design, build, test, document and support interfaces for new and existing systems and for the purpose of data migration and business intelligence.
• Analyse and propose technical design options for solutions to be efficient, scalable and meet business acceptance criteria and technical standards.
• Participate in IT projects by providing estimates, organizing work activities to deliver on time, and by providing status updates as required.
• Build tools and leverage automation to improve system performance, reporting and operations.
The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. PPS has its own classification, compensation system and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of post-secondary education at a recognized institution in computer science, information technology or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE:
E1 - Significant* experience in developing applications/interfaces within an Information Services department.
E2 - Experience designing, configuring, developing, documenting, testing and supporting/performing administration for SharePoint sites and apps (SharePoint 2016 or higher), Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate.
E3 - Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing and supporting Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), integration with Microsoft databases and apps, PowerShell, MS Access and web apps.
DEFINITION:
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a given period of time.
