Intent of the process

The initial intent of this process is to offer one full time indeterminate position in North Bay, Ontario.

A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process MAY/WILL be created and MAY/WILL be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles (English essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC, Bilingual non-imperative BBB/BBB, Bilingual non-imperative CBC/CBC) as well as tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) which may vary according to the position being staffed.

This pool may be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm).

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
*Applicants must meet both OC1 and OC2 or meet OC3

• OC1: Possession of a Provincial Ministry of Environment (MOE) Class 2 Water Distribution and Supply certificate.
AND
• OC2: Possession of a valid TSSA Petroleum Mechanic 3 (PM3) certification.
OR
• OC3: Possession of a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) WFE Tech DP2 qualification or higher.

EXPERIENCE
• EX1: Experience operating and maintaining water distribution systems.
• EX2: Experience operating and maintaining fuel systems.

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• AOC1: Possession of a Pool Operator Certificate.
• AOC2: Successful completion of spill response training.
• AOC3: Possession of a Provincial MOE Class 1 or 2 Waste Water Collection certificate.
• AOC4: Possession of a Provincial MOE Class 1 or 2 Water Distribution and Supply certificate.
• AOC5: Possession of one or more of the following certifications:
o First Aid
o CPR
o WHMIS
o Aerial Lift equipment
o Confined Space Entry
o Large Spill Training

ASSET EXPERIENCE
• AEX1: Experience working with Federal Storage Tank regulations.
• AEX2: Experience operating and maintaining wastewater collection systems.
• AEX3: Experience in the handling of Chemicals and HAZMAT.
• AEX4: Experiencing supervising others.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• OR1: Ability to obtain and maintain a DND driver’s license (DND 404).
• OR2: Willingness to work overtime including weekends.
• OR3: Willingness to be on a call-in list and asked to respond after hours within one hour of being called in.
• OR4: Willingness to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment.
• OR5: Work may include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
• OR6: Willingness and able to lift and carry heavy equipment in small, cramped locations.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Valid and maintain a class G or class 5 provincial or territorial driver’s license.
• Possess and maintain required occupational certifications.
• Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.
