The Maintenance crew works to build, install and repair all Parks infrastructure. The Maintenance crew also acts in support of other functions to fulfil the Parks Canada Agency mandate and maintain Jasper National Park assets. The Trades Labour crew members need to be professional, physically fit, adaptable, willing to learn and expand their knowledge in the construction field and enjoy working outdoors.
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada's outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff identical or similar positions at the GL MAN 03 group and level with various tenures. EDUCATION:

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- Possession of a valid Class 5 drivers license.
EXPERIENCE:
- Acceptable* experience in performing routine maintenance tasks;
- Acceptable* experience in general labouring;
- Acceptable * experience in the operation and maintenance of hand tools and light equipment such as power saws, jackhammers, drills, table saws, powered brushers etc.
*Acceptable is defined by a minimum of six months experience.

- Ability to use and perform minor maintenance on light/heavy equipment and hand tools.
- You are required to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status security clearance.
- You are required to possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Class L, N or other graduated licenses will not be accepted).
- You must be willing to work overtime.
- You will be required to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays
and provincial/territorial holidays as scheduled by your delegated manager.
- You must be willing to work and travel in a variety of terrains and weather conditions in the performance of the duties.
- You will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
- You may be required to wear a uniform while performing your duties.
- You must be willing and able to wear required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
