Citizen Services/Passport Officers work directly with in person clients to provide guidance and access to federal programs and services that support Canadians.
Payment Service Officers serve the public by telephone in matters regarding Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS), etc. (Inbound Call Centre).
Payment Service Officers / Program Service Officers process claims for Employment Insurance benefits (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS) benefits, etc.
Integrity Services Officers inform clients of their Rights and Obligations specific to the type of benefits they are receiving, and conduct non-complex investigations to prevent, detect and address fraud.
Training will be provided.
Certain positions may require onsite work because the work cannot be performed efficiently or effectively offsite. Certain positions support hybrid work, offering the employee an opportunity to perform a combination of onsite and offsite work under an annually reviewed work arrangement, with the on-going objective to balance operational requirements with employee individual circumstances and work preference. Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) operates under Treasury Board Secretariat’s “Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace” (https://www.canada.ca/en/government/publicservice/staffing/direction-prescribed-presence-workplace.html).
Where operationally feasible, ESDC also supports flexibility related to the work schedule, including a compressed work week, varying start and end times, and leave with income averaging.
The intent of this process is to create a bilingual (in both French and English) PM-01 pool of qualified candidates to staff positions within Service Canada in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, North West Territories & Nunavut.
This pool could also be used to staff similar bilingual (in both French and English) positions of various tenures within Employment and Social Development Canada in the Western/Territories (W-T) Region.
In order to manage the number of applications in this selection process, management may apply top-down and/or random selection at any stage throughout the process.
HOW THIS INVENTORY WORKS:
