The Public Service Commission of Canada (PSC) is seeking an individual with a strong understanding of Indigenous identity to lead the review of Indigenous identity in staffing. In this role, you will conduct consultations and collaborate closely with Indigenous partners to co-develop measures that ensure positions intended for Indigenous individuals are filled by Indigenous candidates.
Your leadership will be essential in integrating Indigenous perspectives into the review process, enhancing recognition of Indigenous identities, and promoting inclusivity. You will also design and oversee the consultation process, ensuring that the recruitment approach is fair, respectful, and supportive of Indigenous identities. Ultimately, your work will contribute to a more diverse and inclusive public service, aligned with the principles of Reconciliation and the PSC's mandate.

The National Capital Region’s office offers a welcoming work environment in a prime location in Gatineau, Quebec.
Location of work: 22 Eddy, Gatineau (National Capital Region). It is possible for Indigenous employees whose location is critical to their identity to work from their communities.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) Project Lead position for a 1-year term with a possibility of an extension.
The PSC has implemented its Hybrid Work Model. As a result, persons working at the PSC are required to work from the office three days a week and have the option to telework the rest of the week, subject to operational requirements. Requests for full-time teleworking will be examined on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the employer's guidelines. It is possible for Indigenous employees whose location is critical to their identity to work full-time from their communities.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard. Whenever the minimum education standard is met through this alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and candidates must be re-assessed for future appointments or deployments where the manager has decided to use this alternative.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience in leading consultations with indigenous organizations, communities and networks.
EX2. Experience in writing documents such as reports, briefing materials, and presentations on complex matters.
EX3. Experience in engaging with Indigenous peoples or Indigenous organizations as equal partners in developing a project.
EX4. Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations.

AC1. Certificate or diploma in a field related to Indigenous peoples such as: Indigenous law, Indigenous history, Indigenous studies, or Indigenous education.

AC3. Knowledge of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
