When submitting an application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the essential education, and the essential and asset experience qualifications. Your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your resume may only be used to validate this information.

Intent of the process

A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and Edmonton with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
- Graduation with a degree in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OR
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in landscape architecture or in urban planning, rural planning, community planning or some other specialty relevant to landscape architect and town planner positions.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience with projects or studies related to the assessment of renewable energy options, greenhouse gas reduction options, or climate change resilience for structures/properties; OR Experience in investigation, assessment and rehabilitation for major projects related to Sustainability and Greening, Energy Efficient Design.
- Significant experience* experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations verbally and in writing to senior management on operational issues related to program delivery on complex files**.
- Significant experience* in consulting, negotiating or establishing partnerships with various stakeholders from various levels of government or private industry
- Experience in managing financial resources*** using financial management software or applications.

*Significant experience is defined as having provided engineering or environmental services for real property projects of varying degrees of complexity and type related to sustainability initiatives, renewable energy, green house gas reduction or climate action.
** Complex files are files that include the following characteristics: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, impacting several partners or stakeholders, precedent setting or having a major impact on the program delivery for the public service or for the organization, or that could yield potential for significant media coverage.
*** Managing financial resources: applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have managed and been accountable for a budget including being responsible for sound financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must indicate the size of the budget they have managed directly.

Experience:
- Experience delivering projects, assessments or studies related to Building Condition Reporting that includes the procurement and contracting.
- Experience in coordinating, directing or supervising internal or external multidisciplinary**** teams for the operations and maintenance of office and special-purpose buildings.
- Experience in managing human resources*****.

**** Multidisciplinary means more than one discipline of engineering or architecture.
***** Managing human resources: applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised staff, assigned work, and managed performance.
