Duties

As a project manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of construction projects, from design to completion. Your tasks will include developing requirements, producing tender documents internally or collaborating with consulting firms, monitoring budgets and schedules, tracking work, ensuring compliance with codes, standards or regulations governing construction, as well as resolving any issues that may arise during the execution of the work. You will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants and other stakeholders involved in the projects. You will also act as a technical expert in your discipline.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill six (6) positions in various official language requirements.

There are positions immediately available in:
Bagotville
Montreal
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
Valcartier

This process will also create a pool of qualified persons and may be used to fill current and future vacancies in various locations with various employment tenures (indeterminate, acting, specified period), language profiles (English Essential, French Essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB) within the Department of National Defence.

This pool may be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm).

EX1. Experience in project management within the field of construction.

EX3. Experience as a technical expert in civil engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or any other relevant field related to the position to be filled.

Reliability Status security clearance

CE1. Be able to obtain and maintain a National Defense driver’s licence (DND 404).

CE2. Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence issued by the Province of Quebec or equivalent issued by another Canadian Province or territory.

CE3. Ability and consent to submit a satisfactory record from the Quebec Automobile Insurance Board (SAAQ) or equivalent issued by another Canadian Province or territory.

CE4. Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.

CE5. Availability and willingness to travel outside the Headquarters Area.
