Assessment accommodation

Our analysts:
• gather and synthesize strategic information;
• analyze trends and environmental issues;
• research new and novel policy topics to support Indigenous rights and reconciliation;
• provide strategic advice;
• engage with colleagues and partners to build consensus on key issues; and,
• represent our department and our region on working groups, committees and in work with our partners.

Work environment

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Regional Director General’s Office is looking for talented individuals with expertise in research, analysis, policy development and intergovernmental relations to work on important issues affecting the environment. We are looking for team members who:

• excel at collaborating with people with diverse backgrounds and interests; and
• have excellent communication skills.

While we do work overtime when needed and our work requires occasional travel, our management team supports work-life balance including flexible work arrangements.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process (anticipatory) is to fill different vacant positions. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates could be created and used to staff the same or similar positions with varying tenure of employment (indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment, acting), various security clearance levels and various linguistic profiles within the Public Service of Canada. Please note that when the selection process is finalized, Notifications will be posted on GC Jobs for appointments. Our intention is to communicate with candidates by email. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EX1: Experience conducting research and preparing written analysis on issues, policies, strategies or programs.
EX2: Experience working on projects with multidisciplinary teams with diverse perspectives and objectives.
