Brief description of a technical advisor (declarative) and a technical advisor (development):
- Technical Advisor (Declarative): Candidate will be able to provide Salesforce solutions by building applications based on business rules and logic instead of writing code. This is emphasized by the ability to configure the Salesforce platform using its declarative tools.
- Technical Advisor (Development): Candidate will able to provide specialized or complex business processes by developing highly customized solutions that may require a programmatic code base approach due to their complexity. This will be accomplished with either APEX or lightning web components.

Duties

As a technical advisor (declarative or development), you will be responsible for:
- Leading in Scrum teams on projects and working in an environment using Agile software development methodology
- Developing or implementing enterprise or complex solution architectures using Salesforce technology.
- Representing the team in discussions with managers, technical staff and clients to obtain agreement on service requirements or the resolution of technical issues.
- Administering business analysis techniques and methods to conduct cost benefit analysis, or feasibility studies or requirements analysis.
- Team lead only: Supervising staff and performing HR activities or financial management activities.

We are conveniently located close to major bus routes, so it is easy to commute from all points across the National Capital Region

The intent of this inventory process is to staff positions with various tenures, security profiles and language requirements within ISED.

EDUCATION FOR ALL STREAMS:
- Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

*Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
**Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE FOR ALL STREAMS:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience developing, maintaining and/or supporting large or complex IT Solutions.

- Minimum three (3) years of experience working as part of multi-disciplinary team in a Salesforce technical environment.

- Experience in analyzing requirements, identifying gaps and providing technical advice or recommendations on IT solutions.

EXPERIENCE:
STREAM 1 (Team Lead):
- Minimum two (2) years of experience leading a team (including coordinating or coaching) made up of IM/IT members.

STREAM 2 Technical Advisor (declarative) & STREAM 3 Technical Advisor (development):
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in configuring (declarative) or developing Salesforce solutions using their platforms and industry tools.
