Duties

Who are we and what do we do?

NCR Stores distribute operational equipment to support RCMP police operations in the NCR on a daily basis. NCR Stores also provide logistical support for special and major events within the NCR, and operate a centralized store which carries a range of technical, operational and administrative supplies.

What will you be doing?

NCR Stores are responsible for:
- distributing and tracking operational equipment issued to members on a daily basis (police vehicles, portable radios, restricted and non-restricted weapons, investigative tools, etc.);

- researching and procuring operational equipment from external suppliers for Protective Operations (with the exception of uniform clothing and kit);

- operating the RCMP Centralized Store and procuring a broad range of operational, technical and administrative supplies to maintain it;

- providing direct support to RCMP police operations within the NCR during special and major events, visits and training courses. This includes the preparation and distribution of equipment and the coordination of various services.

Intent of the process

The intent of the selection process is to staff five (5) term Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB positions, which require Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret RCMP security clearance. The positions are located at 1426 St-Joseph Blvd, Ottawa, ON.

This selection process could also be used to staff similar positions of varying tenures, of varying linguistic profiles within the Protective Services - Federal Policing, RCMP.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

Experience in procurement (acquiring quotes, processing orders & receiving goods)

Experience with inventory control : maintaining stock of supplies and equipment

Experience providing customer service in a warehouse setting

Experience in using computer software applications, such as but not limited to, MS Word, MS Excel and/or MS Outlook

Experience working in a warehouse for at least six (6) months during the past five (5) years

Experience using computerized warehouse and inventory management systems

Conditions of employment

Enhanced Reliability Status with RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance

Willingness and ability to work variable 10 hour shifts (days, evenings, nights and weekends)

Must be able to lift a minimum of 20kg in accordance with safe lifting practices

Willing and able to work overtime, as needed, sometimes on short notice

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Willingness and ability to travel outside of the National Capital Region

Willingness to work with police intervention tools such as, but not limited to : firearms, tasers and/or pepper spray
