FLEXIBLE WORK:
Applicants must accept to work at the John H. Chapman Space Centre located in Longueuil (Quebec) a minimum of three days per week, as per the Common Hybrid Work Model directive of the CSA. Depending on the nature of the work required by the position and the operational needs, staff may be required to work on site for more than the minimum three days a week.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, acting, secondment, or assignment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION

• A bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position such as, but not limited to: Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems.
OR
• Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE

• Experience* in evaluating, analyzing and solving engineering problems and in making recommendations.

• Experience* in the application of engineering techniques, practices, processes or procedures.

*Experience is defined as performing relevant activities for a minimum period of 2 years in the last 10 years.

ASSET QUALIFICATION - EDUCATION

• A post-graduate degree from a recognized university in an applicable engineering or science discipline.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE

• Experience with relevant operations software.
• Experience in robotics.
• Experience in using real time simulation applications/systems.
• Experience in the development, integration, certification, or operation of scientific payloads or research instruments for utilization in space.
• Experience in planning and monitoring the work items of an engineering project or program.
• Experience in consulting, negotiating or collaborating with various stakeholders in an operational environment.
• Experience in the development, testing, validation or implementation of operational space, aerospace or military hardware or real time software.
