Duties

What is the function of Real Estate Services team?

Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Real Estate Services team acts as the real estate agent for the Government of Canada in both brokerage and advisory services related to government-owned property. The brokerage related services include the acquisition and disposal of federal real property while the advisory services include indigenous consultation/engagement, heritage consultation and strategic portfolio planning. These services in turn provide our clients with well-conceived, innovative and cost-effective solutions. With a focus on providing high quality, value-added real estate and advisory products and services to our clients, we ensure our projects are completed in a proactive, creative and timely manner.

Responsibilities of the Real Estate Strategic Advisor may include:
• Participating in the development of financial and investment management strategies and plans for presentation to senior management
• Conducting complex socio-economic/financial research and program evaluation as it relates to innovative concepts/approaches to acquisition, disposition or leasing a broad/diverse portfolio of assets.
• Attending meetings with PSPC, Central Agencies and OGDs and making presentations on the economic implications of policies, standards and regulations impacting on specific real property and capital projects.

Work environment

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗦𝗣𝗖!
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) helps the Government of Canada serve Canadians. With a strong focus on quality customer service, we provide innovative common services such as real estate and building management, purchasing, banking, pay and pensions, and translation to other government departments, agencies, and boards. By providing these centralized services to departments and agencies, we enable them to focus on what they do best: providing their programs and services to Canadians.

At PSPC, our approach to inclusion is simple: we are committed to achieving a competent and representative workforce that reflects the diversity of the Canadian population we serve, and strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment that enables collaboration and innovation. When you succeed, we all succeed.

The Real Estate Services team is geographically dispersed and leverages technology to stay connected, particularly when we can’t connect in person. Our team works in the office three days a week and enjoys branch teaming days, social events and the opportunity to work hard and get results! In person collaboration helps to solidify our team relationships. Team culture is important with our group and we take a team approach and manage by consensus. Creativity is encouraged and new ideas are celebrated. We take time to reflect on how we get the job done instead of just focusing on the result.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures including indeterminate (permanent), and term (temporary), in Vancouver or Victoria within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada.
