This particular recruitment campaign is a component of the Statistic’s Canada’s Northern Hiring Strategy. The primary objective of this strategy is to establish a sustainable and robust workforce in the Northern Territories (Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories). The department is committed to hiring in the Northern Territories in an effort to improve operational efficiencies and to have a staff with a local lens. Data Collection Clerk (Part-Time, Flexible Hours)
Statistics Canada conducts over 2.5 million interviews annually to gather essential survey data on topics such as health, labor, and the environment. As a Data Collection Clerk, you will be integral to this process, supporting the collection of crucial information that aids governments, businesses, and communities in making informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Data Collection: Conduct survey interviews via telephone, as well as in-person visits across your Region.
• Data Organization: Document and organize survey data using computer systems.
• Verification and Quality Assurance: Review and edit received documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Communications: Clarify data with respondents, explain the purpose of surveys, and assist with inquiries.
• You will interact with diverse individuals daily and contribute to meaningful work that impacts communities.

Job Requirements and Details:
• Flexible part-time hours including nights, weekends, and variable schedules based on survey needs.
• Annual salary will be pro-rated in accordance with your average bi-weekly hours

The intent of the process is to staff Data Collection Clerk positions in remote locations.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Statistics Canada with various tenures such as indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, secondment or deployment. The pool can be used to staff positions with various language requirements.

Essential Experience:
• EXP1 - Experience in dealing with the public, either by telephone or in person (e.g., call center, front line customer service responding to requests for information, helpdesk, technical support, etc.)
• EXP2 - Experience in the utilization of various computer software packages and applications to perform daily tasks such as launching applications, performing research, opening/closing/locating/editing of documents and/or files, uploading information and running software programs. This may include specialized software & applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.), word processing and various research tools.
