Intent of the process

The Government of Canada will be hosting the 2025 G7 Leaders' Summit which will be held in the summer of 2025 in Kananaskis, Alberta. The exact dates have yet to be confirmed however it is anticipated that this information will be made available in the forthcoming weeks.

Resource requirements are expected to be substantial in order to ensure the proper functioning of the event, and the safety & security of attending delegations, Internationally Protected Persons (IPPs) and the community.

We are looking for a range of skills from various levels and professional groups to support the planning, operational and the demobilization phases of the G7 Leaders' Summit. All employees may be assigned in a variety of roles and responsibilities during these phases.

To meet the immense challenge before us, the RCMP Major Event Coordination Centre is presently seeking casual employees (90 days contract) to fill assorted positions for the various phases for this event.

Depending on the functions, the candidates may be required to meet one or more of the listed operational requirements:
- Willing and able to work shift work, with availability 24/7 including weekends, over an extended period of time (possibly over 1 year).
- Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
- Willing and able to travel on short notice.
- Willing and able to work on site full time.
- Willing and able to work on a hybrid basis.*
- Must be willing to work occasionally during weekends and statutory holidays;
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence.
- Willing and able to work in a warehouse environment which is at times a dusty and noisy environment.
- Willing and able to transport items and safely use warehouse equipment according to procedures.
- Willing and able to drive the company vehicle.
- Willing and able to wear CSA-approved footwear and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, be on standby, or adjust schedule with little or no notice to meet operational requirements.
- Willing and able to perform work duties in inclement and uncomfortable weather conditions.
- Willing and able to provide technical support to frontline policing operations in the field.
- Willing and able to crawl and work in small areas to install equipment.
- Willing and able to lift heavy or awkward items, weighing up to twenty-three (23) kilograms.
- Willing to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, on occasion under extreme temperature conditions.
- Willing and able to travel throughout service area (i.e., Alberta) including remote area, overnights, and travel via helicopter or fixed wing aircraft.

*Hybrid is defined as a combination of on site work and telework.

Note: The operational requirement (if any) may vary according to the position to be staffed.

Conditions of employment

Positions will require either a RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, RCMP ERS with Secret or a RCMP ERS with Top Secret security clearance. All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview.

Note: Other conditions of employment may apply depending on the position to be staffed.
