Duties

The immediate vacancy is in the Technical Service Section at 7 CFSD. The section is a mix of military and civilian members, the supervisor is a TI-04 who reports to a Master Warrant Officer Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent (MWO AM Sup). The section is responsible to perform quality assurance activities on materiel being received, issued, and stored at the Depot.

Daily activities include.
↪ Performing product verification and inspections against contract requirements.
↪ Investigating issues arising with stock.
↪ Assisting the warehouse personnel in identifying, determining the condition, packaging and correct documentation for materiel being returned from CAF units.
↪ Monitoring and replying to email requests for technical assistance.
↪ Reviewing contracts for completeness and the information provides is correct.
↪ Maintaining shelf life, correct expiry dates are used.
↪ This position is to provide SME knowledge on airworthiness documentation and traceability for the section.

Intent of the process

Our immediate need is to staff one (1) Permanent English Essential vacancy with 7 Canadian Forces Supply Depot in Edmonton, Alberta.

A pool of qualified candidates may also be established to fill future vacancies with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), various security requirements, various language requirements and various conditions of employment in various locations within the Department of National Defence.

EX1: Experience in the manufacturing practices related to the electronic or mechanical engineering fields in aviation, land, or marine industry.
EX2: Experience in the preparation, filing and control of maintenance documentation in aviation, land, or marine fields.
EX3: Experience in performing product verification in the electronics, mechanical, or materials as applicable to aviation, land, or marine products.
EX4: Experience reading and interpreting contracts or blueprints and specifications.
EX5: Experience drafting technical and administrative reports.
EX6: Experience in applying quality assurance principles and techniques to identify product or service issues.
EX7: Experience in a field of electronic or mechanical engineering fields applicable to aviation, land or marine products, which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 5 years.

EXPERIENCE

AEX1: Experience in the field of dimensional measurement principles and practices.
AEX2: Experience in the use, calibration, and care of mechanical measuring devices.
AEX3: Experience in applying principles and practices of Dimensional Metrology to ensure product conformance to specifications.
AEX4: Experience in ensuring compliance with WHMIS regulations for safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
AEX5: Experience in utilizing DND Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) and Defence Supply Chain (DFC) systems effectively manage and track technical data and inventory.

Willing and able to work overtime, as needed.
Willing and able to lift materials up to 22 kilograms (50 lbs) following safe lifting techniques.
