EXAMPLE CRITERIA: Experience using various computer software from the Microsoft suite (at a minimum: Word, Excel, AND Outlook).

โœ… SCREENED IN: I have over 14 years of experience working with MS Office Suite software: Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel. During my college education as a Legal Administrative Assistant it was imperative that I maintain over an 80% average in all MS Office programs, and I maintained over a 95% average in all programs.

During my work experience as a Position A, Position B, and Position C, I used MS Word daily to draft various documents, letters, and memos to staff members and clientele. I used MS Excel daily to update all product orders to clients within the industry and maintained an accurate parts inventory. In Position C at Company X, I used Excel create a budget spreadsheet, track expenses and create monthly summary reports and graphs. In all the previously listed positions, I used MS Outlook daily to write emails, and send documents to staff members, clientele, and taxpayers in addition to the calendar function to schedule internal and external meetings, organizing my tasks, etc.

As a Position D with Company Y, I use MS word to create posters, flyers, questionnaires, and invitations to clientele and team members. I use MS Excel to create and maintain an accurate accounting system for accounts payables, receivables, incomes, and expenses.

Duties

Conducts a variety of cleaning/housekeeping/maintenance services.

Orders, stores, maintains adequate inventories of all sanitation commodities; supervises the issuance of sanitation supplies and cleaning equipment.

Maintains and repairs cleaning equipment; replenishes cleaning supplies and services.

Removes ice and snow from entrances and exits.

Accompanies and assists contractors within the facility and performs cleaning inspections to ensure housekeeping practices meet applicable standards.

Supervises, trains and counsels offenders employed in the Cleaning Program; establishes constructive relationships with offenders to encourage their successful reintegration into the community; identifies and discusses offender performances and behavioural issues with Case Management Staff; writes offender performance evaluation.

Work environment

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.

Staff will be working in an environment where there could be offender contact.

Occasional exposure to unpleasant noises, sights, odours, to dust, dirt, chemicals, dampness, contaminated material and humidity, wetness and extremes of weather conditions and variations in temperatures due to entering and leaving the building(s).

Possession of a current Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certificate
Experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment
Experience in the proper techniques and methods to clean up bodily fluids / biohazard spills
Experience providing cleaning services in a Health Care facility
Experience working in a correctional environment
Experience in the use of various software programs such as: Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook
