Work environment

We are seeking experienced, motivated and organized HR professionals who are able to demonstrate initiative to serve our clients. The human resources field within the Federal Public Service is filled with opportunities: come and join us!

POSITION WITHIN THE HUMAN RESOURCES BRANCH
The Human Resources Branch within Public Service and Procurement Canada is staffing HR professional positions. The positions currently available are within the Operations Sector, where incumbents are the first point of contact for all human resources matters (mainly in staffing) for a client branch, such as the Translation Bureau, the Real Property Branch, the Finance Branch, or the Departmental Oversight Branch. As the department is currently going through major transformation, our clients need to have access to competent professionals who are focused on their needs. The Human Resources Branch is looking to modernize its services and therefore, value innovative approaches as decisions made based on intelligent risk-taking. Finally, the organization encourages work-life balance and offer various flexible work-arrangements to its employees, when applicable.

Incumbents will be asked to discuss their clients’ needs with regards to human resources; present options, conduct research and analysis to identify solutions, and support clients throughout hiring processes (discuss assessment strategy, support screening process, development of assessment tools, etc.).

POSITION WITHIN SHARED HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES
Shared Human Resources Services (SHRS), as part of the Integrated Services Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada, strives to provide excellence in client service while providing the full suite of Human Resources services on a cost recovery basis. With over 50 current Memoranda of Understandings with various government departments, agencies and crown corporations, the sector is always seeking to expand its client base, and strengthen its capacity. The ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, a solid HR skill set, great communication abilities and a strong desire to work in a fast paced, team environment. As an HR profesional, you are responsible for creating, maintaining and enhancing our client’s experience in obtaining a variety of services, from full-fledged operational staffing, classification and labour relations, to more specific “projects” such as external and internal advertised staffing processes, developing innovative staffing strategies with clients, interviewing candidates, developing recruitment tools and approaches, drafting and reviewing work descriptions (EX and non EX), organizational design reviews, developing organizational proposals, and a great number of other services. This opportunity allows you to approach HR as a business, and strive to create, maintain and expand your professional network and skills!

Intent of the process

The intent is to primarily staff HR professional positions within Public Service and Procurement Canada. However, other organizations of the public service could appoint from the various pools.
