This is an inventory of potential candidates to fill upcoming employment opportunities for Information Technology (IT) positions at the following groups and levels: CS-01, CS-02, CS-03 and CS-04.
As various positions will be filled from this inventory, a complete statement of merit criteria is not provided at this time. The criteria listed are those requirements to be met for entry into the inventory. Should you be contacted for further consideration, the hiring manager will provide a copy of the complete Statement of Merit Criteria for the position being filled. At that time, you may be required to provide additional information to be used for screening and assessment. The merit criteria may be assessed each time using a variety of assessment methods in accordance with the position requirements.

Shared Services Canada (SSC) delivers Government of Canada Information Technology services that underpin service delivery to Canadians.
SSC has six program areas: email services, data centres, telecommunications, cyber and IT security services, workplace technology devices and service management. This includes but not limited to IT job opportunities in the following areas:
• Intra-Building Networks and Telecommunications
• Mainframe & Bulk Print
• SuperComputing
• Facilities Management
• Infrastructure Security and Security Operations
• Service Delivery, and Service Management.
This inventory may be used to staff positions at Shared Services Canada across Canada with various tenures and/or with language requirements and security levels according to the position to be staffed.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

EXPERIENCES
1-Experience in troubleshooting methodologies and resolving technical issues in the field of Information Technology
2-Experience within a data centre in one or more of the following: completing rack and stack activities (such as rack layout, equipment installation, monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting, cabling devices, capacity planning and updating documentation), managing environmental controls requirements and/or managing power requirements
3-Experience in one or more of the following activities: installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, patching, provisioning, upgrading and/or troubleshooting one or more of the following related to operating system management:
- Linux/Unix
- MS Windows
4-Experience in one or more of the following activities: installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, patching, provisioning, upgrading and/or troubleshooting related to Distributed File System (DFS) management.
5-Experience using Mainframe utilities, products and/or technologies
6-Experience with IT infrastructure architecture related to one or more of the following:
- Mainframe
- Mid-range

31-Experience in leading committees and working groups comprised of colleagues and other IT specialists to develop and negotiate architecture strategies, designs, systems, plans or standards.
