Working at the Fleet Maintenance Facility (FMF) Cape Breton (CB) in Esquimalt, your work will entail servicing and maintaining Canadian Forces naval vessels. These ships are amongst the world’s most advanced fighting fleet.
Unlike most employers and schools, FMF CB provides your training, tools and
salary.
This advertisement will be used to create a pool from which to hire casual, term or indeterminate riggers.
Candidates may be selected by merit or by random selection from the pool.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Applicants must meet one of the following:
Experience in the rigging trade with rigging certification/Red Seal, or
Marine rigging experience without rigging certification/Red Seal, or
Red Seal in a relevant trade with rigging experience.

Ability to splice wire and/or rope.
Required to work shifts and overtime.
Security Clearance: Various Reliability or Secret.

Required to lift heavy objects including overhead lifting to facilitate the installation of
lifting apparatus (approximately 75lbs/ 35kgs).
Required to work in confined spaces.
Required to climb vertical ladders and work at heights (approximately 200ft).
Requirement to wear all appropriate PPE.
