Duties

You will be serving senior citizens, helping deliver Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Supplement benefits. To do this, you must understand, analyze and process relevant information by applying procedures and guidelines arising from acts and regulations. You will be required to calculate and compile the information displayed on the citizens’ income tax returns, estate documents or vital statistics documents.

You will also be required to read, interpret and input information in order to respond to requests, and to process transactions in electronic files while demonstrating thoroughness and timeliness.

You will communicate in writing or on the telephone with the citizens in order to obtain information or to explain decisions.

The work will require prolonged periods of sitting with constant use of a keyboard and mouse.

Intent of the process

Following this process, a pool of qualified candidates will be created to staff some full time, part time (day work - Stream A) and shift work positions (3 pm to 11 pm or 7 am to 3 pm - Stream B). This process may be used for indeterminate, term, acting, deployment, secondment or assignment basis.

PSEE - Test of Judgement UIT

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
