Duties

Your role will be to support the Innovation and Knowledge team of the Living Laboratories Division. Your tasks will be varied and will include:

- supporting qualitative data analysis;
- supporting the writing of scientific papers and reports;
- producing fact sheets and educational content;
- supporting the Innovation and Knowledge Working Group;
- supporting Division meetings and workshops; and
- any other related tasks supporting team members and their work.

Work environment

The Living Labs Division is part of AAFC’s Science and Technology Branch. Its main mandate is to encourage innovation supported by collaborative and transdisciplinary research between scientists, farmers, partners and Indigenous communities in Canada through a national network of 14 living labs. The living lab approach involves the co-development of on-farm innovations base on an iterative process that actively engages farmers and partners at every stage. Through these collaborative efforts in a real-life context, this approach can accelerate the pace of innovation and adoption of sustainable practices and technologies among farmers.

The successful candidate will work on-site or in a hybrid format, spending at least 40% of their time in an authorized government workspace. Please note that most of the work will be done in English.

Education*:
Currently enrolled or will be enrolled by the date of appointment in a Master’s or Doctoral program at a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in environmental humanities and social sciences, human geography or a similar program.

Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. Proof of enrolment will be required prior to the start date, and you must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
