Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position in Banff, AB. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term or acting basis.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

EDUCATION
• Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. For more information please click on “Degree equivalency”.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (eg. Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe and Outlook.
• Experience providing services to internal and/or external clients over the phone, in person and/or in writing.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Justice Online Information Network (JOIN), Police Information Retrieval Systems (PIRS), Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM), Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS), National Criminal Data Bank (NCDB).
• Experience providing financial support services such as correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport).

Conditions of employment

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance. Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
