The Director, Primary Care and Clinical Services:
•Consistently supports and communicates the mission and values of the directorate
•Is responsible for the oversight of the Regional Nursing Operations and its program delivery
•Is responsible for the overall nursing budget in the Saskatchewan Region, managed according to Treasury Board Guidelines
•Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice, knowledge and support to health professionals, communities and organizations
•Prepares reports and briefings on emerging trends and issues related to nursing, primary health care and allied clinical program areas
•Provides leadership and direction for the development of strategies which promote recruitment, retention, and excellence in healthcare service delivery
•Participates as a critical member of the Senior Management team for the Saskatchewan Region
Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities.
Working alongside other health care experts on a supportive and inter-professional team, you will provide leadership in quality nursing care and practice for First Nations people in Saskatchewan and help ensure that they have the best health outcomes. The immediate need is to staff this position on an indeterminate basis out of Regina, Saskatchewan.
A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various security requirements, conditions of employment, tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate), and in various locations.

Education:
•Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position
Occupational Certification:
•Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada
Experience:
•Significant* experience providing Community Health (Public Health, Home & Community Care) or Primary Care nursing services
•Experience leading the development, implementation or evaluation of a health care program
•Experience in the management and allocation of human or financial resources
*Significant is defined as the experience normally acquired over five years with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task
Asset Qualifications:
•Experience managing funding arrangements such as grants and contribution agreements
•Experience liaising with and maintaining relations with Indigenous organizations or government partners
•Experience providing direct health services to Indigenous populations

Operational Requirements:
•Availability for regional and national travel is required. Incumbents may be required to travel by vehicle or small fixed aircraft, and occasionally into northern locations.
•Availability to work flexible or irregular work hours, including overtime
•Willingness and ability to work in a rigorous, diverse and often demanding work environment
•Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position
•Willingness to relocate to Saskatchewan
•Secret Status Security Clearance
•Possession of a valid driver's license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver's license
•Current BLS certification (renewed annually)
•Current valid registration as a Registered Nurse and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
