We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
Please note that each hiring manager may have specific criteria to assess for their respective positions. Therefore, “asset” experience qualifications may be considered as essential qualifications based on the current and future requirements of the position being staffed.
During the application process, you will be asked to answer a series of pre-screening questions about “asset” experience qualifications that may be a deciding factor in referring your application to hiring managers for consideration. In this instance, any of the “asset” qualifications may be deemed essential requirements for the position being staffed.
We are aware that there are many questions to answer during the application process. Please keep in mind that, in answering all the questions for which you meet the criteria, you will significantly increase your chances to be referred to hiring managers for further consideration.
📝 HOW TO APPLY
Step 1 : Read the ENTIRE advertisement carefully which includes the “Other Information” section near the end.
Step 2 : Want to join our team? Click on “Apply online” at the bottom of the page to let us know you are interested.
Step 3 : Tell us about you! Fill out the application via GC Jobs by entering all the necessary information.
The most important part is answering the screening questions for essential and asset education and experience criteria.
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ANSWERING SCREENING QUESTIONS
→ You are responsible for explaining how you meet the qualifications by giving clear and concrete examples in your answers to each question.
→ It is NOT enough to only state that you meet the criterion by listing responsibilities or activities, by answering in point form, by copying & pasting from your résumé or by simply saying “refer to my résumé/ previous answer(s)”. If you do not provide enough information, we may screen you out of the selection process.
→ For each question, you MUST clearly show and support that you meet the qualification by writing one (1) to two (2) paragraph(s).
→ When evaluating your answers, we cannot make any guesses about your experience.
→ We will not contact you to get more information or to clarify your answers during the screening phase.
→ We will only use your résumé as a secondary source to confirm what you wrote in your answers. Please include dates, departments/organisations, and position titles for each job listed.
→ YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE (e.g., artificial intelligence, consulting your colleagues, managers, friends, etc.); however, you may consult the Internet and other relevant documents throughout this exercise. You may NOT copy and paste information from any source unless you cite the source as part of your rationale for addressing the scenario. YOUR RESPONSE MUST BE WRITTEN IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

📣 In addition, based on direction from Treasury Board on prescribed presence in the workplace, CSC uses a hybrid work model which will allow most employees the opportunity to work a combination of telework and work from the CSC office location (there is currently a minimum requirement of working in the office three (3) days a week), subject to operational requirements.
A pool of qualified candidates (fully or partially assessed) will be established to staff AS-02 positions with various tenures (temporary or permanent) in Ottawa. The pool may be used to staff similar AS-02 positions at various locations in Canada and various tenures. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide sufficient information will result in the candidate being screened out and rejected from the process.
We may assess the essential and asset qualifications using interviews, written tests (take home assignments or other), references or a combination of these or other assessment methods. Other sources of information (such as performance agreements, work samples, board member knowledge, etc.) may be used to assess the criteria identified on the Statement of Merit Criteria.
You must be able to provide proof of your education credentials.

Candidates who respond past the deadline risk being removed from the selection process.
