Duties

As a SENIOR LEASE AND COMMERCIAL LETTING OFFICER, you will be responsible for:
- Actively participating on project teams responsible for the planning, development and delivery of accommodation projects/services.
- Negotiating a variety of lease transactions on various space types and in a wide range of communities while adhering to funding, time and quality constraints.
- Assisting in developing the Terms of Reference and reviewing and analyzing various studies and reports on the real estate market for leased accommodation in the support of lease transactions.
- Developing rapport and effective working relationships with colleagues in multiple branches of PSPC in Western Region and other regions, and with private real estate professionals.
- Working independently and directly for Other Government Departments in the delivery of a wide variety of unique space requirements.
- Preparing and implementing lease tender calls, analyzing and evaluating bids, and making sound recommendations following this process.
- Monitoring trends and developments in the field of commercial leasing and sharing the information with peers.
-Completing a wide variety of internal and external training courses and attending industry seminars and conferences, which may include overnight travel.
- Inputting, manipulating, and retrieving data/information and documentation on inventory of real property holdings using automated business information management/information technology (IM/IT) systems.
-Training and mentoring new and junior staff as required.

Education:
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- E1: Experience making formal written recommendations to a client or senior manager OR understanding and writing legal contracts.
- E2: Experience managing a heavy workload and prioritizing work effectively.
- E3: Experience working in Real Property* transactions and/or management.
- E4: Experience engaging in difficult negotiations.

*Real Property is defined as the land and anything permanently attached to it, such as buildings and structures.

Asset Education:
- Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree specializing in Business Administration. Public Administration, Psychology, Real Estate or any other specialization related to the field of real property, contract law or interpersonal dynamics.

Asset Experience:
- Experience working in Leasing.

Asset Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Federal Government Leasing practices.
