Intent of the process

This selection process will be used to staff positions within the Canadian Coast Guard in Prince Rupert, BC. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Possession of a Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyman Trades Certification in one of the following: Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Pipe Fitter, Millwright or Machinist.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance
Valid Health Canada Medical
Valid driver’s licence
Willing and able to travel for up to 3 week periods of time to remote sites via trucks, boats and aircraft
Willing and able to work weekends, overtime and travel on short notice
Willing and able to access remote sites over rugged terrain and work outdoors in extremes of environmental conditions on land and at sea
Ability to climb towers and work at heights in excess of 2.4m
