Intent of the process

This inventory will be used to establish a candidate pool for filling current and future vacancies of similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, seasonal, casual) at CFB Borden and can be used within the Department of National Defence.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid AZ Driver’s License without restrictions from the province of Ontario or other provincial or territorial equivalent.

Experience:
Experience in the operation of a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to: Dump Truck, Grader, Tractor Trailer, Front End Loader and Bulldozer.

Experience performing operator inspections and daily maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to: Dump Truck, Grader, Tractor Trailer, Front End Loader and Bulldozer.

Experience maintaining driver logs, defect sheets and other applicable documentation.

Occupational Certification:
Possession of certification or completion of acceptable training in one or more of the following:

↪ Front-end loader
↪ Backhoe
↪ Excavator
↪ Crane
↪ Grader
↪ Tractor Trailer unit

Possession of a valid Certificate of Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

Possession of certification or completion of training in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

Experience:
Experience working in snow and ice control operations.

Experience in the operation, instruction and examination of the following:
↪ A variety of vehicles including light commercial vehicles up to and including tractor trailers.
↪ Material handling equipment (MHE) carrier and other vehicles including attachments such as vehicle mounted cranes, winches, and various trailer configurations.

Experience training personnel on equipment operation, inspections and maintenance.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid departmental driver’s licenses (DND 404).
• Able to safely perform a variety of physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 30 kg, climbing ladders, working on uneven surfaces, and sitting for periods of 4-5 hours on a daily basis.
• Possession of a valid AZ Driver’s License without restrictions from the province of Ontario or other provincial or territorial equivalent.
