A qualified candidate may be offered the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, asset criteria are desirable and may be invoked at any point of the staffing process by the hiring manager, including for being a deciding factor in choosing the right fit candidate.
This process will be used to fill positions under two teams:
Stream 1: ARAK - Property Strategy Section
The ARAK Portfolio Manager collaborates with Canadian missions globally, overseeing and managing the Real Property (RP) portfolio. Serving as the primary contact, the manager presents Plans of Work, offers updates, guidance, and addresses inquiries about the portfolio. The role involves consulting with key stakeholders to establish annual and multi-year programs, prioritizing based on an analysis of challenges and opportunities. The manager develops short-term Integrated Work Plans and long-term Mission Portfolio Plans.
Stream 2: ARAR - Realty Services
Our team offers expert guidance on real property realty transactions within both the bureau and missions. As part of realty services, we develop acquisition and disposal strategies in consultation with asset management, sponsors and portfolio. We ensure this guidance is based on relevant and up to date Realty Market analyses.

Stream 1 - Property Strategy Section (ARAK)
EX1 - Significant experience* at least in three (3) of the following areas:
1. Real property development;
2. Real property portfolio management;
3. Real property project management;
4. International trade in real property and cost-benefit or investment analysis;
5. Preparation of decision packages and documents related to real property projects for management approval;
6. Asset planning and management;
7. Facility risk management.
Stream 2 - Realty Services (ARAR)
EX1 – Significant experience* at least in three (3) of the following areas:
1. Real property appraisal services;
2. Real property acquisition;
3. Real property brokerage;
4. Disposal of real property;
5. Leasing of real property;
6. International real property;
7. Experience in real property negotiation.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired with having performed the related activities for a period of more than two (2) consecutive years within the past six (6) years.
EX2 – Significant* experience in providing advice and recommendations or reports to senior management** or clients*** to facilitate effective real property investment decisions****.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired with having performed the related activities for a period of more than two (2) consecutive years within the past six (6) years.
**Director level or above.
***The term "client" refers to an external organization, private sector commercial clients, or other government departments and, where the advice and recommendations are provided to decision makers within that organization.
****The term "effective real property investment decisions" refers to real property investments or disinvestments aimed at achieving the best price-quality ratio that is consistent with an organization's financial and strategic objectives.
EX3 – Significant experience* in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, project teams or working groups.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired with having performed the related activities for a period of more than two (2) consecutive years within the past six (6) years.
EX4 - At least one year's experience in financial analysis and forecasting financial requirements related to investments.
***ASSETS QUALIFICATIONS***
EDUCATION:
AED1 - Successful completion of a post-secondary program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
AED2 - Certification, license or accreditation with specialization related to the duties of the position (e.g. business or public administration, urban planning, economics, real estate, architecture or engineering, interior design, appraiser).
AEX1 - Significant experience* in developing, coordinating and executing partner and stakeholder engagement strategies to support outreach.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired with having performed the related activities for a period of more than two (2) consecutive years within the past six (6) years.
AEX2 - Experience implementing and developing annual or multi-year plans.
AEX3 – Experience developing and leading negotiation strategies related to real property investments.
AEX4 - At least one year's experience in budget management related to investments.
