Medical Adjudicators are registered nurses who review and assess medical and non-medical information to determine benefit eligibility for Canada Pension Plan Disability. Tasks include case-management and reviewing and analyzing client benefit applications and related supporting documentation to evaluate evidence and render consistent and sustainable decisions on the initial, reconsideration, and ongoing eligibility of applicants related to departmental programs.
The adjudication process is comparable to an independent study unit and includes gathering information, formulating a decision, compiling, and summarizing reports.

The Federal Public Service is transitioning to a common hybrid work model that supports sharing in-person experiences that are essential to a cohesive, collaborative, and high-performing organization while continuing to provide flexibility to support offsite work. At an individual level, this is captured in annually reviewed work arrangements with the on-going objective to balance operational requirements with employee individual circumstances and work preference.
In the context of ESDC's mandate, most positions are identified as either onsite or hybrid (combination of onsite and offsite work). At ESDC, employees who fall within the hybrid work category report onsite a minimum of two days per week (40% of their regular work schedule), as determined by operational requirements. Prior to appointment, the hiring manager will discuss with the successful candidate(s) the options and/or specifics as they pertain to the work arrangement.
Where operationally feasible, ESDC also supports flexibility related to the work schedule, including a compressed work week, varying start and end times, and leave with income averaging.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff current and future vacancies.
