Duties

We are seeking professional Environmental Specialists to deliver a diverse portfolio of environmental projects and/or program of work on behalf of clients related to contaminated sites, greening government/sustainability and/or environmental management and compliance. Candidates are encouraged to apply for as many of the streams that interest them.

You will be responsible for program and project management (e.g. scope, schedule, & budget oversight) including First Nations and stakeholder engagement, and providing technical and strategic advice to clients and/or senior management.

Public Services and Procurement Canada manages one of the largest and most diverse portfolios of real estate in the country and is the Government of Canada's real property expert. Our Pacific Region extends from the Canada/US border to the Arctic, including British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Our real property professionals include office accommodation specialists, architects, engineers, environmental scientists, real estate experts and asset and facility managers. Our work in delivering services is equally diverse; it includes construction and repairs to federal correctional facilities, research laboratories, border crossings, remote harbours as well as office fit-up in owned and leased facilities.

EXPERIENCE

EXP1
*Significant experience in at least one of the following streams:

Stream 1 –Contaminated Sites:
• Leading teams and consultants for contaminated sites programs and projects including assessments, risk assessments and remediation.

Stream 2 – Sustainability/Greening Government:
• Leading environmental programs involving sustainable buildings management.

Stream 3 – Environmental Management and Compliance:
• Experience in working with governments and stakeholders in designing, implementing and monitoring compliance programs to meet environmental regulatory requirements.

Note:
DEFINITION -*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of a broad range of related activities which were primarily the candidate’s responsibility. It will be assessed on the basis of scope, complexity and the diversity of the work performed as well as the autonomy required of the candidate to perform the activities.

EXP 2 (All Streams): Experience in contract management and administration including: identifying requirements, developing scopes of work and specifications, tendering, monitoring the general contractor progress and performance.

EXP 3 (All Streams): Experience in the management of human and financial resources. This includes supervising staff, assigning work, performance management, and managing budgets.

EXP 4 (All Streams): Experience in collaborating with First Nations and/or other government departments and/or other levels of government and/or stakeholders such as industry.
