The immediate intent of this process is to staff positions in the National Capital Region.
Positions may also be staffed in other locations.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various conditions of employment and various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Indigenous Services Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.
Note: Successful placement in a pool does not guarantee an offer of employment.

Education:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution* with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.
*Recognized post-secondary institution: Public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at http://www.cicic.ca or Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) at www.canalliance.org.
Occupational Certification:
• Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada
Experience:
All Streams:
• Experience managing health care teams, health services, and/or health programs.
• Experience participating in the development, implementation or evaluation of health programs.
Stream One:
• A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the area of practice of Home Care
Stream Two:
• A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the area of practice of Public Health
Stream Three:
• A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the area of practice of Primary Care (In urgent, emergent, or critical care)
NOTE:

• Experience in providing health care services to Indigenous people and/or Indigenous communities.
• Experience in recruitment and retention activities of health professionals.
• Experience applying population-based health approaches
• Experience assisting in developing operational frameworks, strategies, or performance indicators for the effective management of nursing services.
• Experience conducting environmental scans to identify, prioritize, and resolve emerging health service delivery concerns and issues.
• Experience in preparing briefing notes
