The staffing process will be used to staff positions within Indigenous Services Canada BC Region:
• Contribute to the delivery and payments administration of Indigenous Services Canada BC Region programs and initiatives.
• Maintain databases as well as maintain financial and internal data using complex financial government systems and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
• Compile and analyze financial or statistical information and provide financial support services.
• Contribute to the development and support of the implementation of administrative payment systems, processes and procedures.
• Assist in the creation of funding agreements through the review of detailed project activities and reports.
• Provide logistical support in preparation for meetings, prepare presentations and background information for participants.
• Work with First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

We are located at 1138 Melville Street in downtown Vancouver, adjacent to the Burrard SkyTrain station. Our building features:

All employees of Indigenous Services Canada are entitled to fifteen work hours to increase our cultural competency, advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action #57.
The official workplace for the positions to be filled is located in Vancouver. Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work mode. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.
This process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, acting appointment), operational requirements and conditions of employment within Indigenous Services Canada.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience processing and responding to requests from clients or colleagues.
Experience in maintaining databases, tracking systems or spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
Experience in providing various financial or administrative support services such as, but not limited to, coordinating activities, creating and processing financial documents, arranging travel and/or purchasing orders, financial reconciliations, taking minutes at meetings, maintaining filing and bring-forward systems.

In order to manage the number of applications in the selection process, management may use the application of the Asset Qualifications, random selection and/or top down consideration of scores at various steps in the process, to determine the number of candidates who will be further considered in the process. Please note that achieving a pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a cut-off mark that is higher than the pass mark on any evaluation used throughout the process.
For this selection process, it is our intention to communicate with candidates VIA E-MAIL and/or PSRS for screening and assessment purposes; this will include communication of screening results and invitations to written tests and interviews.
