Professional leadership and oversight in the management, coordination and delivery of Regional Public Health Program activities; development and implementation of Regional policies, plans, procedures, strategies and evaluation mechanisms; expert advice to regional management and functional direction to health care providers on issues surrounding Public Health, including infection prevention and control and the provision of clinical services for the care and treatment of infectious diseases.
The Correctional Service of Canada is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
The Correctional Service of Canada, as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing.
Occupational Certification
Registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada.*
* In order to be appointed, candidates must be registered in the province of Ontario.

Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of health programs.

Experience working in the area of infectious diseases in a congregate setting (long term care, correctional facility, shelter etc.)

Operational requirements

Reliability Status security clearance
• Registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the province of Ontario.
• Must possess a valid driver’s licence.
• Valid CPR/AED level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Valid CPR/AED for Health Care Providers (HCP) is also acceptable. Certification must be obtained in person.
