Duties of this position may include (but are not limited to):
↪ Installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of mechanical systems.
↪ Preparing cost and labour estimates projects, materials, supplies, tools and contract maintenance services.
↪ Reading and applying data from drawings and specifications.
↪ Estimating labour and materials required to complete repair, installation and maintenance of plumbing or piping distribution systems.
↪ Coordinating work with other team members.

✈ This position is located at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) North Bay, which is home to 22 Wing North Bay. CFB North Bay/22 Wing is the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF)’s central wing for guarding North American air sovereignty. RCAF Station North Bay opened on September 1, 1951, as part of Canada’s new national air defence network.

The intent of this process is to fill one full-time indeterminate (permanent) position in North Bay, Ontario.
The official location of the position (designated worksite) to be staffed is CFB North Bay and requires full-time onsite attendance.
As a result of this process, a pool of candidates may be established and used to fill the same or similar positions with various tenures, operational requirements, and conditions of employment.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC1. Possession of a valid Ontario Plumber (306A) Trade Certificate AND a valid Ontario G2 Gas Technician Certificate at minimum. For both certifications, an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of Qualification will also be accepted.
OR
OC2. Possession of a valid Ontario G1 Gas Technician Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of Qualification.
NOTES:
*Those appointed into the position may be required to partake in upgrade training.
**Equivalent/acceptable Canadian Armed Forces qualification for applicable trades may also be accepted.

Reliability Status security clearance
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Class “G” driver’s licence issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial/territorial equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DND 404 driver’s license.
• A current and acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment.
• May be required to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, scaffolding and work from heights. Work may include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to travel to undertake training as required.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and be on standby or call back.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a Backflow Prevention Device certificate within 2 years of initial appointment.
• Those appointed into the position may be required to partake in upgrade training.
