The RCMP's Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) Program supports the mandate through the delivery and support of IT systems used to access, communicate, record, share and manage critical information necessary to protect Canadians.

Responsibilities of the IT Project Delivery team includes:
- Initiates, manages and supports all aspects of large-scale IT solutions delivery to operations;
- Provides leadership to understand internal and external users and client needs, assesses impacts and presents solutions aligned with needs;
- Researches and evaluates industry technology standards and leading-edge, innovative technology solutions;
- Documents technical requirements that supports the tendering and evaluation of industry solutions through competitive procurement process;
- Develops software, tests, integrates and deploys technical solutions to meet the operational requirements;
- Performs analysis, configuration, integration, maintenance and support of in-house and commercial off-the-shelf applications;
- Deploys and supports Proof of Concepts, Field trials and pilot solutions for User evaluation;
- Safeguards the security and operational integrity of RCMP information;
- Provides internal and external users and clients with prompt, and responsive support;
- Assists with the management of IT vendor goods and professional service contracts.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and a RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should an RCMP Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. EXPERIENCE:
E1. Significant experience leading the design, development, deployment and maintenance of IT software applications or infrastructure solutions;
E2. Significant experience planning, organizing and managing the tasks and deliverables of IT resources;
E.3 Significant experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.

1. Significant is defined as the depth, breath and complexity of experience normally associated with full-time performance of various activities related to the duties which is normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to occasionally work overtime (365/24/7 environment, including holidays and weekends) when required on short notice.
Candidate must be willing to support 24/7 systems, including being on call.
