Duties

Who are we and what do we do?

Director Defence Resource Management Information System (DDRMIS)

DDRMIS manages the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), an application used for financial records, materiel acquisition, workforce management, and weapons and vehicle life cycle management. DDRMIS implements new functionality for the application in accordance with its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) roadmap and strategy.

- DRMIS In-Service Support (ISS) which covers requirement analysis, impact assessment, configuration, testing, documentation and production support as per business requirement. Work with technical teams (ABAP, BASIS, Roles & Authorization etc.) where required to implement system changes
- Support Projects internal and external to DRMIS by providing oversight pertaining to integration with ISS, testing and consultation
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with clients internal to DND, other government departments and central agencies to develop an optimal solution which helps fulfilling the mandate/vision of DND
- Provide options and recommendations to management re system changes and production issues
- Manage and coordinate resources to achieve success towards operational priorities outlined by the organization

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill up to 15 immediate vacancies within DDRMIS.

A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may also be established to fill current and future vacancies with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment in various locations within the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION ⤵

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE ⤵

Experience in one or more of the following:

EX1. Experience with ERP systems or other large Enterprise IT database solutions in one of the following areas:
- As a supporting programmer
- Designing, configuring and maintaining Roles & Authorizations
- Designing and supporting System & Network Security
- Developing and providing technical administration of Enterprise Information Management solutions

EX2. Experience in providing technical support to Enterprise Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.

EX3. Experience in SAP BASIS

EX4. Experience in supporting Unix or Linux or Windows OS (Operating System Support and Virtualization Software)

EX5. Experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions.

EX6. Experience in system support and maintenance including functional configuration and testing in a large sap environment/ sap project.

EX7. Experience in testing as well as using test automation tools.
