📌 To be considered for Research Affiliate Program (RAP) work opportunities, candidates must meet the following criteria:
▶ Be recognized as having full-time MSc student status by a Canadian post-secondary academic institution at which you are currently enrolled. (Proof will be required).
▶ Be the minimum age to work in the province or territory where the job is located.
◾ The student is expected to contribute to research that will help to quantifying carbon impacts of land-use change and management of salt water ecosystems in Canada. Duties and responsibilities include using machine learning algorithms and remote sensing products for mapping coastal wetland land-use change and to support the development of operational map products.
◾ Limited travel may be involved.
◾ The project will open opportunities for student to contribute to greenhouse monitoring and reporting, work with a team of experts in geosciences, land use change and forestry.
➡ The student will work with the pollutant, inventory and reporting division of Environment and Climate Change Canada to support critical research on greenhouse gas emissions and removals as a result of management and land-use change of coastal wetlands.

📚EDUCATION:
The student must be currently enrolled or able to enroll in a Master's Program with specialization in remote sensing, geography and environmental sciences in the Department of Geography at the University of Carleton, by 1 December, 2023.
💻EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience* in using geospatial analysis tools in Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS required.
2. Experience* in geospatial analysis and modelling required.
3. Experience* in using R Software, Python, and Javascript required.
4. Experience* in remote sensing techniques, image analysis and classification algorithms required.
5. Experience* in modelling environmental systems, geographic information systems, quantitative geography, and environmental systems are an asset.
*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
