The Alberta RCMP Operations Strategy Branch supports operations by ensuring that the Division is a strategically focused, aligned, and intelligence-led organization of excellence. In this role, you will lead the Business Intelligence Unit in providing services to over 100 communities and provincial and municipal policing partners. Through your leadership, your team of analysts will support all levels of the service delivery model in Alberta through ongoing research, analysis, and the presentation of empirically defensible strategies to attain organization goals. This unit employs intelligence methodologies to examine business, crime and criminal data and trends from internal and external sources. You’ll lead your team of analysts on a variety of tasks, with sometimes short deadlines for a multitude of requirements. This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, and create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in social sciences, such as Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Political Science or Criminology. A recognized post-secondary degree with a focus on research methods including courses in statistics, such as business / commerce, or math would also be suitable.
Significant* experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis for the development and provision of advice to senior management, partners and clients.
Experience in the development of written and oral presentations of complex analyses to senior management and partners.
Experience developing analytical tools and products.
Experience managing human resources.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with approximately two years of experience.
Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in political science, economics, sociology or statistics.
