Duties

We are recruiting for several positions where you will have the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge of the department.

Here are just some examples of the potential opportunities:

Citizen Services/Passport Officers work directly with in person clients to provide guidance and access to federal programs and services that support Canadians.

Payment Service Officers serve the public by telephone in matters regarding Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS), etc. (Inbound Call Centre).

Payment Service Officers / Program Service Officers process claims for Employment Insurance Benefits (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS) benefits, etc.

Integrity Services Officers inform clients of their Rights and Obligations specific to the type of benefits they are receiving, and conduct non-complex investigations to prevent, detect and address fraud.

Training will be provided.

Work environment

The federal public service is transitioning to a common hybrid work model that supports sharing in-person experiences that are essential to cohesive, collaborative and high-performing organization while continuing to provide flexibility to support offsite work. At an individual level, this is captured in annually reviewed work arrangements with the on-going objective to balance operational requirements with employee individual circumstances and work preference.

In the context of Employment and Social Development Canada’s mandate, most positions are identified as either onsite or hybrid (combination of onsite and offsite work). At ESDC, employees who fall within the hybrid work category report onsite a minimum of two days per week (40% of their regular work schedule), as determined by operational requirements. Prior to appointment, the hiring manager will discuss with the successful candidate(s) the options and/or specifics as it pertains to the work arrangement.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a bilingual (French/English) PM-01 pool of qualified candidates to staff positions within Service Canada in BC, AB, SK, MB, YT, NWT & NU.

This pool could also be used to staff similar bilingual (French/English) positions of various tenures within Employment and Social Development Canada in the Western/Territories (W-T) Region.

In order to manage the number of applications in this selection process, management may apply top-down and/or random selection at any stage throughout the process.

HOW THIS INVENTORY WORKS:

Initial draw date will be December 4, 2023. Updates will be provided for future draw dates.

Your application will be active for 120 days. You will receive notice on your account: 30 days before your application is about to expire. If you do not take action, your application will become inactive and no longer be considered. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, you may select the link “update my inventory status” to reaffirm your interest.

WAITING PERIOD FOR REASSESSMENT: The retest period for this assessment is 30 days from the date of results notification.
