Under the supervision of the Senior Engineer, the Mechanical Engineering Technician shall:
- Carry out reviews of technical deliverables (study reports, drawings and specifications, shop drawings)
- Develop solutions and concepts
- Provide technical advice
- Prepare drawings of mechanical systems
- Inspect mechanical structures and systems
- Supervise construction works

The Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada will be following the direction from the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. This common hybrid work model will consist of work on site at least 2–3 days each week, or 40–60% of their regular schedule. EDUCATION:
Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in building services engineering or in another discipline related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
EXP. 1 At least five (5) years of experience* in building mechanical systems design.
Definition:
* ''At least five (5) years of experience'', is defined as experience acquired during a work experience or an internship.
EXP. 2 Recent experience** using AutoCad software.
Definition:
** ''Recent experience'' is defined generally as work experience of five (5) years acquired in the last seven (7) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:
A-1 Diploma of College (DEC) Study in Mechanical Engineering technique.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
A-2 Experience in site supervision (participation in site meetings, surveying of existing conditions, site inspections and supervision of work as required).
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE:
A-3 Knowledge of one of the building accreditation systems and processes: LEED, WELL, FITWELL.
