Important messages

If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.

Assessment accommodation

⭐ How to apply by stream? ⭐
Candidates may apply for and qualify in one or more streams. A candidate will be selected in the pool if he/she meets all the general essential qualifications, knowledge associated with at least one disciplinary area of one stream, and essential abilities/skills. In relation to the needs of a position being staffed, hiring will be based on a candidate’s knowledge and assets in the disciplinary area(s) within each engineering stream. Thus, having knowledge and assets in more than one disciplinary area will be used in the screening process (i.e. to determine who will be invited in the next selection step). Therefore, candidates are encouraged to demonstrate their knowledge and assets in as many disciplinary areas as applicable.

Information you must provide:
(1) Your résumé
(2) Answering pre-selection questions for essential qualifications (Education and Essential Experience) and for asset qualifications you meet (Education and Experience). Note that only general assets (i.e. applicable to ALL STREAMS) and assets associated with the stream you are applying for will be considered.
(3) Proof of diploma. Candidates will be required to provide proof of education at a later stage during the process.
Selected candidates with foreign credentials will be required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. For more information, please consult the Education section.
(4) Contact information for 2 professional references (1 colleague and 1 manager or supervisor). **References will be requested later in the process.**
(5) Select the stream(s) and associated disciplinary area(s) for which you want to apply.

When submitting your application, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the education and experiences requirements listed in the essential qualifications and asset qualifications section. It is your responsibility to provide clear and concrete examples in your responses to each question. It is recommended that you describe the experience examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly understand. Describe the situation/task, how, when and where you acquired these experiences by giving examples. The content of your response must be supported by your CV/resume as your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your CV/resume will only be used to validate this information. A lack of examples and details will result in your application being rejected as the Assessment Board will have insufficient information to determine if the requirement is met.

All information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.

FLEXIBLE WORK:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, federal employees demonstrated their ability to adapt to new ways of working onsite and remotely, while delivering results for Canadians. We have therefore built on this experience and the Canadian Space Agency will adopt a hybrid and flexible work style as an integral part of its work environment.

Depending on the nature of the work required by the position and the operational needs, hybrid and flexible work arrangements, such as a combination of on-site and telework and compressed work schedules, are possible. Following the latest orientation from the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Canadian Space Agency will adopt a hybrid work model that will see employees working on-site at least two days per week, or the equivalent of 40% of their normal schedule depending on the agreement that will be discussed with their supervisor.

Intent of the process

The purpose of this process is to create a pool of candidates to fill positions in all branches of the Canadian Space Agency. It would be also used for appointments at similar positions with employment tenures, locations of work, language requirements, security requirements that may vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.
