Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill current and future vacancies, predominantly in the National Capital Region (NCR), with various employment tenures and language profiles within the Department of National Defence.

This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level.

We have Defence establishments in:
British Columbia: Comox, Masset, Vancouver, Victoria, and Esquimalt;
Alberta: Suffield, Edmonton, Wainwright, and Cold Lake;
Saskatchewan: Dundurn and Moose Jaw;
Manitoba: Shilo, Winnipeg, and Portage la Prairie;
Ontario: Toronto, Trenton, Thunder Bay, North bay, Ottawa, Petawawa, Borden, Kingston, and London;
Quebec: Bagotville, Valcartier, Gatineau, Montreal, and St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu;
Nova Scotia: Berwick, Greenwood, Cape Breton, Kentville, Sydney, and Halifax;
New Brunswick: Gagetown and Oromocto;

EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.
EX2. Experience in using advanced features of Microsoft applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editor.
EX3. Experience in using web based collaborative tools such as but not limited to, SharePoint or GC Docs.

STREAM 1 - HUMAN RESOURCES:
AEX1. Experience using Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) such as PeopleSoft, or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
AEX2. Experience in at least one of the following Human Resources areas such as:

b) Recruitment
c) Classification

STREAM 2 - FINANCE:
AEX3. Experience in making travel arrangements and processing travel claims.

AEX7. Experience in the creation of financial Delegation of Authority (DoA).
AEX8. Experience in data entry using salary forecasting tools.

STREAM 3 - SECURITY:
AEX9. Experience working within the field of security (corporate security, security screening or security investigation processes).
AEX10. Experience using the security system application WebSCPS.
AEX11. Experience collaborating, consulting, or liaising with various security partners or stakeholders in relation to security.
AEX12. Experience in Local Registration Authority (LRA), Unit Security or Information System Services.

STREAM 4 - ACCOMMODATIONS:
AEX13. Experience in coordinating Accommodations activities, such as but not limited to office moves, provisioning, ergonomic assessments.
AEX14. Experience in coordinating a project.
AEX15. Experience in researching in support of contracts or service agreements.

STREAM 5 - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER:
AEX16. Experience in planning, managing, and organizing the calendar or agenda for senior management (defined here as Director level or higher) and organizing branch level or governance meetings.
AEX17. Experience in preparing and tracking correspondence, formatting, proofreading, and ensuring quality control of various documents.
AEX18. Experience in maintaining a bring forward system.

STREAM 6 - INFORMATION MANAGEMENT / ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND PRIVACY (ATIP):
AEX19. Experience interpreting and applying Information Management or Records policies, directives, and procedures.
AEX20. Experience in Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP).

STREAM 7 - EVENT COORDINATION / COMMUNICATIONS:
AEX21. Experience in the planning, coordination or delivery of events.
AEX22. Experience in the application of project management principles and/or best practices for event delivery.
AEX23. Experience in stakeholder, client, or service provider engagement for events.
